Architectural Change Form

Changes to your Home

If you are making changes to your existing home or property, you must complete and submit to the Association an Architectural Change form prior to the work being performed. This form is completed in duplicate - one for the homeowner and the other for the Homeowner's Association. Supporting documentation must be attached to your form such as: plot plans, materials, paint or roof color samples, drawings or renderings of proposed changes, measurements, etc. These will vary depending on the proposed change. You will need to obtain signatures from your two adjacent neighbors if your change affects them (i.e. blocking a view, additions near a common lot line)  acknowledging and approving the work to be performed.   You will also need to receive board approval before the start of your home improvement by obtaining two board member signatures.  It is advised that you do not wait until the day before a project begins to obtain the board members signatures.  Please provide the form with supporting documentation to board members at least 3 days in advance so that board members have the opportunity to review the proposed changes to your home.   In addition, your homeowner association dues must be current in order for the project to be approved.

Please note: A new architectural change form must be completed, re-approved by adjacent homeowners  and re-approved by the board when any changes are made to the original board approved architectural plan.  Otherwise, the original architectural plan is null and void.

Modifications or additions that would require the Architectural Change form include: installing a new roof, extending a driveway, planting a tree, building a deck or pergola, adding a walkway or fence, painting the home's exterior, etc.

General Architectural Control

Hidden Oak Estates Homeowners Association has approved architectural guidelines. The guidelines should be looked upon as protective rather than restrictive because they are designed to enhance the quality of life for individuals living in the Association by protecting the property values and safety of all residents and owners.
